Everyone has the right to seek asylum from persecution. If you are afraid to return to your country of origin, because you believe you will be persecuted or you will suffer serious harm and violation of your rights because of your race, religion, nationality, membership of a particular social group or political opinion, you have the right to seek asylum in the Republic of Serbia. A national asylum system is in place to determine who qualifies for international protection.
